Squatting/lying on side, raised wings and kicked a little during grab, mostly with L foot but R was against towel so hard to eval use. Anaesthetized under ISO and oxygen via mask (4% ind, 2% maint) for radiographs, kept a close eye on respirations due to emaciation. After H view bird started regurging wet cast material. Large piece caught in glottis, swabbed out and dried mouth. Breaths were slow but even and steady after this. Immediately took off ISO and kept on oxygen upright. Soon regurged rest of wet cast. Small piece in glottis, swabbed again, dried mouth. Glottis is a bit irritated, tiny spots of blood on swab. Normal recovery otherwise, breathing fine and woke up quickly. Finished treatment and placed back in kennel. Will KEO for resp distress thru the morning. L leg seems a little stronger than R but both have very positive DPR in both physical movement and pupillary response. L has a bit more resistance in push and pull, clenches foot a little when touched. R has resistance while pushing leg toward body and not much response in foot. Vent is toned. Finished tx and set up in KR2. Treatment --------- 20cc LRS + Vit B SQ 0.05 iron dextran IM Nutrical PO Plan --------- Monitor use of legs. Intake rads on Sat, start PT if not making progress and nsf on rads.
